As a major influence on the security situation in the Asia Pacific region,India has formulated feasible strategies in the process of participating in multilateral security cooperation in the Asia Pacific region. The strategic objective involves balancing the forces of all sides, realizing strategic autonomy, becoming a powerful marine power, realizing the status of a great power, and so on.The strategic measures include the internal development of national defense forces and the multilateral defense diplomacy of the state. On the basis of the implementation process of the "east direction policy",India's participation in the Asia Pacific multilateral security cooperation strategy can be divided into three stages. With the demarcation point implemented in 2001 and 2014,India's participation in multilateral security cooperation in the Asia Pacific region has experienced a process of opening up cooperation, consolidating cooperation and deepening cooperation. Its strategic thinking is becoming clearer and the strategic impact is deepening. The United States expands the regional scope of the Asia Pacific region, introduces the concept of "India too",promotes India's position in this field, deepens the defense cooperation of the United States and India, and will become one of the most important forces in India. In the future,China and India will compete and cooperate in the Asia Pacific region at the same time.
