In the practice of long-term physical education, physical education is becoming more and more mature. At the same time, being constrained by many factors, many obstacles still exist in the development process of traditional sports events in primary physical education. The cultural values, fitness and entertainment features of traditional national sports are growing cold. As to traditional sports teaching models, the project appeared to be a little single, the teaching forms are boring. More and more students begin to be afraid of studying. So how to change the embarrassments in primary school physical education and how to improve and stimulate students' participation in sports activities, have become major problems in our Physical Education. Yunnan is a minority-populated area, the provincial capital Kunming has a long history in the area of traditional national sports culture. It also has a diverse ethnic cultures. To promote the National Traditional sports activities in the primary school physical education in the main city of Kunming is helpful for the heritage of the national traditional sports culture, and it can also make the PE teaching in primary school full of vitality. At the same time, it will make the traditional national sports return to primary school physical education, fill the charm of local culture, rich the PE teaching resources in primary school, and improve pupils' physical fitness.This thesis is based on the investigation and study of eight primary schools in Kunming City and the experience reference of Shilin Ziyu Primary School where the national traditional sports activities and the long-time recess have an effective combination, proposes that during the break, let the students choose their favorite activities, and then participate in the activities actively. To put the national traditional sports into the recess, reform the school recess, optimize the time, space, form, content and structure can make students willing to participate in the activities and master the method of fitness and exercise voluntarily. At last, do voluntary exercises.In the combination of National Traditional sports activities and primary physical education, we should obey the principles of educational, scientific and interesting. And follow the law of education and the characteristics of the physical and mental development of primary and middle school students. Combine learning with pleasure, and combine training with joy. At the same time, combine with the new curriculum reform, and the organic combination of primary school students' comprehensive quality cultivation is also important. Try to meet the needs of different skills, different interests, different development levels of students, to promote the overall improvement of students' physical quality, psychological quality and aesthetic quality and promote the national traditional sports fitness value and the inheritance of national culture.
