Self-management,as an important part of social and emotional learning,is a psychological character that by applying cognitive and behavior strategy one can positively regulate the mental activity and behavior,control improper impulse,pursue positive development and achieve good adaption in different scenarios.Preschool children are facing the situation of finishing the kindergarten and preparing for entering the primary school,which is a critical phase in their life development.Comparing with the knowledge preparation the more important is the acquisition of the psychological character of self-management.For instance,being able to listen intently,staying focused,learning to persevere,regulating emotion and behavior effectively,mastering and using positive social skills,solving interpersonal problems and etc.,and these are all the important factors that can affect the future academic achievements and social adaption of the children.Hence,based on summarizing the domestic and foreign experience on self-management ability development,starting from the law of physical and mental development of preschool children,taking the 4 dimensions of self-management,which are cognition management,emotion management,behavior management and inter-person management,as the intervention framework,this study designs a set of courses for developing the self-management ability for preschool children.In the study,65 preschool children were selected from M kindergarten,and the two groups were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group.During the intervention,the method of quantitative and qualitative analysis were used to test the effectiveness of self-management capacity training programs,and referable proposals were raised.The study shows that after the course intervention: 1.regarding cognition management,the attention focus ability of children in experimental class has been improved,and they are able to encourage themselves to accomplish the tasks;2.regarding emotion management,the emotion management ability of children in experimental class has been improved,internalized and externalized emotion issues have been decreased significantly;3.Regarding behavior management,the behavior controlling ability of children in experimental class has been improved,prosocialbehaviors are exhibited;4.Regarding inter-person management,the interpersonal skills of children in experimental class has been improved,positive strategies for interpersonal problems are appliedThe study validates the feasibility and effectiveness of the intervention course to develop the self-management ability of preschool children,and based on which the teaching schemes and proposals of this intervention activity have been summarized,and referable guidance is provided for kindergartens to design and launch the relevant courses.
