Under the mutual compression among the Eurasian plate,the Pacific Plate,Philippine Sea Plate and the Indian Ocean plate,the geological structure of Mainland China is complex,and the distribution of stress field is uneven.The stress field distribution directly impacts on the occurrence of the earthquake,monitoring network layout,geotechnical engineering design and construction.The importance of crustal stress has already been understood by scientists from all countries.So the stress observation programs have been widely carried out.China began to measurement stress in 1960s and obtained large amounts of data.But the fragmented data is not in favor of sharing and analysis.From 2000,the Institute of Crustal Dynamics in China Earthquake Administration began to collect and process stress measurement data,and built a based-on MapInfo system called "Database of Crustal Stress in China and Adjacent Area"(referred StressDB).The system plays an important and improving role in the study of the dynamics of continental crust,a variety of geological disasters and earthquake prediction.But StressDB is based on the development of MapInfo,and mainly developmented to a single version.The rate of share utilization is low.The system restricts on the research of the crustal stress field.Supported by a special program of deep detection technology and experimental study called "Experiment research of stress measuring and monitoring technology" and an overall rationing program provided by the monitoring and prediction department of China Earthquake Administration,this paper designs and implements a stress database system based on the ArcGIS platform.The system is built based on the GeoDatabase spatial data model of in-situ stress of spatial database,so as to realize and storage management of the spacial stress data and attribute stress data.The system was developed in Visual Studio 2010 software development environment,using C#development language,integrated using WebGIS,ASP.NET,AJAX,.NET technology.The system solved some technical difficulties,such as the rendering and release of the 3d scene and network browsing.It integrated the latest research results of the crustal dynamic environment.The system was established in two version,i.e.B/S edition and C/S version.So it can meet the needs of different users through the two different forms and balance the calculating load between server and client.The system achieved the purpose of the data sharing and improved using level of the crustal dynamics material.It realized query,analysis,drawingstress related special charts and geostress 3d scene and other functions with the geostress data.The system will become a useful research tool to geological scientific.Also,it will provide more technical helps to geoscience research on earthquake,geotechnical engineering design and construction.
