Block is the basic unit of city,the natural environment(lighting,ventilation,radiation,rainfall,etc.)in the block has great influences on people's daily lives,the space layout,the building combination modes and the scale of open space in the block will have an impact on its internal physical environment.In recent years due to the deterioration of urban environment,building planning and Architecture design pay more and more attention to the adaptability and improvement of the natural environment,and even it becomes an important standard to test the success of its design,many of the relevant regulations and norms are also officially published.However,at present,the research on the outdoor wind environment of the street block is relatively few,and the research depth is relatively limited.In fact,for the extreme natural climate environment in hot summer and cold winter area,suc h as Changsha,the advantageous ventilation has great benefits on adjusting the temperature and air humidity.Therefore,to study on wind environment in the city blocks is very necessary and important,so this paper takes the traditional streets in Xiangjiang Changsha as the research object to summarize and analyze the ventilation conditions and related improvement strategies between different block layout and space form.In consideration of the complexity and variability of the field test,this paper conduct the research mainly using the method of computer numerical simulation.Selecting traditional blocks along Xiangjiang River in Changsha as the focus of the study area,and by simulating and analyzing the wind environment of typical blocks,calculating and comparing their various wind conditions,mainly including the velocity ratio and velocity vector distribution in the height of pedestrian level,it summarizes that the influence space elements of traditional block wind environment mainly include the block orientation and the street's height to width ratio and from the two major elements it summed up the rules of the traditional street pattern to adapt to the wind environment;Also according to the current phenomenon of more traditional neighborhoods surrounding high-rise building construction activities,it takes Changsha waterfront Wanda Plaza as an example,the ventilation condition of the surrounding traditional block is simulated and analyzed,and the influence of high-rise buildings on the ventilation of traditional street is summa rized in this paper.Finally,the rules summarized above are used to put forward the improvement strategies of block wind environment and their application on waterfront blocks of Changsha City,for the nearly problems in the traditional block reconstruction,taking one typical block as an example,the wind environment optimization and simulation analysis are carried out to verify the research results.The innovation of this paper lies in: through a combination of quanti tative and qualitative methods,the analysis and summary appear to be the two main factors affecting the wind environment of traditional forms of blocks,and put forward the related improving ventilation strategy,also try to carry out the simulation study,provides a reference for the future study on wind environment of the city block and related numerical simulations.
