As important biological remains, spore and pollen are one of the best indicators of the environmental change in the past. However, the pollen is affected by many factors in the deposition and dissemination process and it is not a simple linear relationship between pollen and plants. Therefore, researching on the relationship between pollen and vegetation and between pollen and climate is important for reconstruction of the ancient environment.Through comparative analysis of 161 modern pollen data, vegetation survey data and climate information in the Longgang volcanic region, and supported by mathematical analysis methods, the current research conducts an analysis of the pollen assemblages of important community types of Longgang volcanic region and analysis of the relationship between pollen, vegetation and climate. The comparison between the pollen assemblage in trap samples and moss samples of the same plot indicates that both of the trap samples and moss samples can reflect the vegetation types within the study area, but the trap can reflect the dominant vegetation more accurately. The current research compares the data between moss samples and vegetation survey and conducts the relative correlation analysis between the percentage of pollen and vegetation cover. It shows that:Abies and Pinus have the highest correlation,Abies,Pinus is over-represented pollen, all of Betula,Juglanss and Quercus are represented pollen while Acer,Larix,Tilia,Ulmus are low-represented pollen.Traps are placed in the Longgang volcanic region for 4 consecutive years and there exist interannual fluctuations about the percentage and concentration of the different types of pollen,Betula,Ulmus experience the most obvious change and so do the other pollens. The comparison between the interannual fluctuations of pollen and that of meteorological factors shows that Pinus,Betula,Julans,Quercus,Salix,Artemisia and Chenopodiaceae have positive correlation with MT-7 and MT,and negative correlation with MT-1,MP and RH;Ulmus,Fraxinus and Tilia have positive correlation with MT-1,MP and RH,and negative correlation with MT-7 and MT;Tilia has positive correlation with RH and MP,and negative correlation with MT-1;Fraxinus has negative correlation with MT-I,MP,RH.
