The Antioxidative Components And Fruits Quality Of Malus Mill.

Crabapple is a species with multifunction as viewing,ecology and food materials.It is used in landscaping,ornamental and ecological protection,currently.The crabapple is a potential species to improve the ecology in the Loess Plateau.Polyphenols is rich in flowers and leaves in plants is a functional component having excellent biological activity.In addition,fruit quality determines the consumption and the comprehensive evaluation will show the common characteristics among species.We chose 16 species among Malus Mill.to analyze the antioxidants and fruit quality in plants.We find that:1.There is a srong antioxidant propeties in leaves and flowers in Malus Mill.Malus'Fuguhaihong',Malus 'Adams'and Malus 'Strawberry Parfait' ranked top three strongest antioxidants among the 13 flowers,while it is Malus 'Sparkler',Malus 'Snowdrift' and Malus 'Royalty' in that of leaves,and the Malus 'Strawberry Parfait' has the most antioxidant properties in 16 fruits,followed by Malus 'Royalty'and Malus 'Adams'.2.Phlorizin,chlorogenic acid,vanillic acid and rutin are the main polyphenols in Malus Mill.Among all the 13 flowers,the Malus 'Red Splender'has a highest content of phlorizin and Malus 'Pink Spire' is top in rutin,while Malus 'Strawberry Parfait' is highest in phloretin.Phlorizin is widespread in leaves,especially in Malus 'Fuguhongguo',reached 129.68 mg/g DW,which is highest among all the species.Meanwhile,catechin is rich in Malus 'Royalty' including flower,leaf and fruit.Fruit of Malus 'Sparkler' gained the most abundant chlorogenic acid and vanilloid,and fruit of Malus 'Snowdrifit' has a highest content of phlorizin,Malus 'Strawberry Parfait' is rich in rutin and parabens in fruit.3.Fruits tested in our research are round or nearly round mostly.Small species like Malus 'Snowdrift' has a greater hardness generally,Malus 'Fuguhaihong' and Malus 'Kelsey'are bigger in fruit and moderate in hardness.Among all fruits,Malus 'Fuguhaihong' is higher in soluble solids and Malus 'Fuguhaihong',Malus 'Strawberry Parfait' are higher in total sugar and titratable acid.Fruits in Malus Mill.contain high crude fiber and have multiple minerals including K?Ca?Mg?Fe?Mn?Cu?Zn.Fructose and glucose are the main soluble suger in fruits in Malus Mill.,and quinic acid,malic acid and citric acid are the main acids in fruits.4.Cluster analysis divided species we test into four groups:the first one is Malus'Hongguo',Malus 'Weiming',Malus 'Kelsey',Malus 'Fuguhaihong' and Malus micromalus Makino,they have higher fruit weight,soluble solids and lower acids;the second one is Malus 'Red Splender',Malus 'Pink Spire' and Malus 'Sparkler',they gained high protin and Vc;the third group is Malus 'Profusion',Malus 'Fuguhongguo',Malus 'Radiant'and Malus'Fuguhuangguo',they have higher dietary fiber and acids;the rest are classified into a group.
