Study On Geoheritage Investigation And Development Model Of Lufeng Dinosaur National Geopark,Yunnan

Lufeng Dinosaur National Geopark,Yunnan is located in Lufeng county,Yunnan province,it was approved as the National Geopark by the Ministry of Land and Resources in 2004,it is a fossil-dominated geopark.The fossils in the geopark are famous around the world,especially the world's largest scale Lufeng dinosaur fauna and Lufengpithecus fossils,so Lufeng enjoys the name of "the hometown of dinosaurs"and "the birthplace of Asian human".Based on the field investigation and data collection in Chuanjie Ana georegion,Dawa georegion and Wutai mountain georegion,this paper carries out the statistics and classification on geoheritage resources of the geopark.As "the hometown of dinosaurs",the main type of geoheritage resources in Lufeng is dinsouar fossils and their localities,associated with typical stratigraphic sections,geological and geomorphologic landscapes,geohydrological resources and geological disaster sites,etc.And there are rich cultural landscapes around the geopark.The previous construction and development of the geopark mainly focused on the fossil excavation and study,ignored the protection and development of other geoheritage resources in the geopark,so that the connotation of the geopark is poor.In addition,Lufeng Geopark also exists other problems:insufficient protection;uncompleted geosite interpretation panels and introduction facilities;unclear land ownership;lack of qualified scientific researchers;poor science popularization;ineffective geopark management body,short of management staff;imperfect transportation condition within the geopark;and insufficient investment,etc.Facing the existing problems,this paper deals with the development model of the geopark,and suggests the four-in-one sustainable development model of "Resources Protection,Resources Integration,Science Popularization and Geotourism Development" for the geopark.Resources protection is the precondition,which is a basis of better geopark construction;Resources integration is the foundation,which can not only improve the geopark connotation,but also can promote integral progress in the geopark and regional tourism;Science popularization is the key,which can improve the public's awareness of the geoheritage protection and scientific and cultural level;Geotourism development is the guarantee,which not only provide funding for geopark management and development,but also can drive the development of local economy,improve the income of the local residents,bring more employment chances to local people,alleviate the employment pressure,improve the life quality of local residents as a whole.The four elements are closely interlinked,complement with each other,and none is dispensable,therefore,the geopark should stick to the principle of overall consideration and all-round development,promote the sustainable development of Lufeng National Geopark,Yunnan.
