Kuqa Depression is located in the northern part of the Tarim Basin,which is a foreland basin in Mesozoic and Cenozoic developed in the northern part of the Tarim plate Paleozoic platform edge.With the discovery of a number of large,ultra-large oil and gas reservoirs and the exploration of tight gas,the understanding of the Kuqa Depression subsalt oil and gas resources scale is far beyond the pre-awareness.It is very necessary to launch a new resource evaluation towards to Kuqa Depression and a new understanding of the potential for oil and gas resources,especially the resource potential of deep and subsalt gas resources and Jurassic tight sandstone gas.In this thesis,the resources assessment method was systematic researched and compared.And the typical analogy calibrated units were analyzed combining with the Kuqa Depression geological features and the latest exploration results.Moreover,the resource calculation method was preferred to perform a systematic review on resource potential of Kuqa Depression.The conclusions of the following five aspects were obtained.(1)This thesis have systematic researched three basic resource evaluation method such as Genesis,statistics,and analogy,the unconventional resource evaluation method was highlighted,and optimal evaluation method was elected for different geological conditions.For the assessment of calibrated units resources and the entire Kuqa Depression resources,it is preferably a good foundation.(2)Five different types of analogy calibrated units were dissected,and a geological scoring standard which were suitable for oil zone,gas zone and tight gas zone,was created.Combining with the results of dissection,the relationship between resource abundance and geological score was established in the Kuqa Depression.(3)Basic geological features were dissected on the the Kuqa eastern Jurassic tight gas reservoirs.Superimposing favorable oil and gas accumulation elements,the favorable zone of tight gas was predicted.And the resource potential of tight gas reservoirs in eastern Kuqa was assessed.(4)The first time Appling the BLOCK module of the IES PetroMod software,a new understanding of the hydrocarbon generation center of Kuqa depression has been obtained.Using the latest Hydrocarbon production rate curve,and considering the lateset petroleum theory of gas generation and the part of source rocks overlaid,the total amount of hydrocarbon source rocks in Kuqa Depression was accurately evaluated,(5)Resource potential of the entire Depression was evaluated from different units and different stratum.The amount of oil and gas resources was predicted 5 and the direction of favorable exploration are advised.In this thesis,the petroleum geological characteristics were concluded systematically.From resource evaluation methods and basic petroleum geological characteristics,the analogy calibrated units which were representative were selected and dissected.And the geological evaluation criteria was established.The systematic evaluation of oil and gas resources was evaluated with different mothods.Stochastic modeling method was used to evaluate the eastern Kuqa Jurassic tight gas,which was believed having great resource potential.A new understanding on hydrocarbon center of the Kuqa Depression was built by the new module of numerical simulation.The favorable zones and stratums were predicted combining with the petroleum characteristics and the results of assessment.The work and conclusions of the paper will have an important guiding significane for oil and gas exploration in Kuqa Depression.
