In recent years,with the rapid development of optical fiber communication technology,fiber as the communication mode of transmission media has gradually become a mature communication media,optical fiber is not only widely used in the field of communication transmission,but also have application in sensors and fiber lasers.The cladding of photonic crystal fiber is made from a single material,and it's hair hole is according to the periodic arrangement.Because of this unique structure,photonic crystal fiber is an important choice for designing dispersion-flattened fiber and dispersion compensation fiber,photonic crystal fiber is the key technology of upgrading optical fiber.This thesis mainly completed the following work:First,on the basis of reading the relevant domestic and overseas document,The method of simulation of the dispersion characteristics of photonic crystal fiber were studied,Introduce a fast vector method by which simulating the dispersion of the photonic crystal fiber,and verify the correctness and reliability of this vector method.Second,the dispersions of fundamental mode in PCFs are computed with the fast vector method in this thesis,simulate the double zero dispersion photonic crystal fiber in different wavelength ranges.Modulated the dispersion property of PCF's effectively by changing the pitch and the air hole size in PCF's cladding,We can design PCF's with closing to zero and flattened chromatic dispersion in wavelength division multiplexing waveband of optical communication.Also designed closing to zero and flattened dispersion photonic crystal fiber near the wavelength of 0.8?m in Ti:sapphire femtosecond lasers,it is conducive to the generation of over-continuous spectrum,so as to be important for the development of all-optical communication.Third,according to the principle of dispersion compensation,narrow-band large negative dispersion photonic crystal fibers and broad-band dispersion-compensating photonic crystal fibers are designed.Near the wavelength of 1.55?m,designed the photonic crystal fibers that can compensate the dispersion and dispersion slope of 100 times of its length of standard single mode fiber used for broadband communication.Finally,design a system that based on the fast vector method on the MATLAB platform.The system can simulate the dispersion of photonic crystal fiber and find the optimal structural parameters fast and accurately.Also it can save a lot of manpower and the parameters can be more precise.
