Vlasov-Poisson equation is one of many important mechanical models in astrophysics and plasma physics.In this thesis we propose a highly efficient numerical calculation method for Vlasov-Poisson equation,the semi-Lagrangian method.We only need to solve the ODEs with initial value problems and use some interpolation methods in the process of solving the equation,it has the advantages of simple calculation and high accuracy.We firstly give the detailed algorithm on how to solve one-dimensional,two-dimensional and three-dimensional convection equation with periodic and nonperiodic boundary condition respectively.Secondly,we give the detailed algorithm on how to solve one-dimensional and two-dimensional Vlasov-Poisson equation by this method respectively.Finally,we show the numerical accuracy and reliability of the proposed method from the numerical results.
