With the increasing attention to the development of marine resources, the application of various marine engineering structures has also become universal. In offshore engineering, the evaluation of the stability of submarine slopes is one of the necessary issues to be considered. This article describes three common methods for simulating slope stability through centrifugal model tests, discussing the advantages and disadvantages of the three methods. In addition, the application of geotechnical drum centrifuges for self-weight consolidation and post-slope cutting is introduced in detail to simulate the stability of slopes, and the test results have a qualitative guiding value for the evaluation of the slope stability. In discussing the centrifugal model test, define the ratio of the simulated safety factor of the actual slope and the safety factor of the slope model obtained by the sample preparation method to ?.The effect of slope angle and soil strength gradient on ? is calculated and analyzed by the Slope/W module of the Geoslope software: As the soil strength gradient decreases,? increases continuously, indicating that the centrifugal model test results are close to the actual slope when the intensity gradient is small. As the angle of the slope increases,?decreases first, and then small fluctuations occur. The overall value is around 0.6.Through the application of an example,a method for quantitative evaluation of engineering slopes using a centrifugal model test is finally given.Because the traditional limit equilibrium method has large errors in evaluating the stability of slopes affected by the weak layer, this paper discusses the weaknesses on the influence of position and trend on the safety factor of the slope by using the Sigma/W module in Geoslope software and the strength reduction method in Abaqus software. The comparison results with the centrifugal model test and the comparison results with other literature examples show that the Abaqus calculation can obtain the slope safety factor more accurately, but the calculation efficiency is lower, while the Sigma/W module is obtained. The safety factor error is slightly larger than the Abaqus calculation error, but the qualitative result obtained by the overall result is consistent, and the computational efficiency is much higher than the Abaqus calculation. In addition,it can be qualitatively obtained that the direction of the weak layer has a great influence on the safety factor of the slope. The concrete manifestation is that the smaller the angle between the direction of the weak layer and the direction of the slope, the greater the impact on the safety factor of the slope.
