In recent years,with the continuous development of UAV Photogrammetry Technique,light and small UAV aerial calibration are widely used in large-scale topographic mapping projects.In practical applications,the load of light and small aerial UAV —the calibration of non-metric cameras usually depends on the method of ground test.However,the acquisition environment on the ground is obviously different from flying.The accuracy and reliability of the proofreaded methods of the ground camera test is hard to guarantee,and the real image acquisition performance of UAV while it is flying cannot be obtained from the ground test.Aiming at the camera calibration and performance evaluation of micro UAV,this paper discusses the calibration,performance evaluation and experimental verification of UAV camera,which conducted in the standard UAV calibration field which is built in Songshan,Dengfeng,Henan.The main work and innovations of this paper are as follows:1.Analyze the factors that affect the UAV image acquisition and calculating accuracy.Explain the principle of geometry calibration,image resolution test,imaging system MTF assessment,image color correction of non-metric camera and etc.2.The design and construction of the aerial test unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)calibration field.According to the characteristics of aerial survey UAV,the factors of consideration in the selection of calibration field are analyzed,and the shape,layout and measurement methods of the field are deeply studied.At the same time,in order to evaluate the image acquisition performance of aerial UAV,image resolution test targets,MTF test targets,and color correction targets are designed to form a complete plan for Songshan aerial UAV calibration field.On this basis,a standardized comprehensive calibration field of Songshan UAV was built.3.Verify the availability and effectiveness of the Songshan UAV calibration field.An aerial survey platform was used to carry a non-metric camera to acquire different resolution images of the calibration field,respectively to check the size,spacing,and distribution of the targets.The results prove that the calibration field can meet the relevant standards of aerial camera calibration.In addition,experimental verification was performed on the UAV image acquisition performance evaluation target.The three-line resolution test target,radial continuous resolution test target,MTF test target,and color correction target were verified.The results show that the performance of the calibration field can meet the design requirements.4.Adopting Songshan unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)calibration field which is designed and constructed on this paper,to evaluate the accuracy of aerial triangulation of different commercial UAV under the condition of uncontrolled and scarce control,the load calibration is carried out on UAV and the calibration parameters are applied to the actual surveying and mapping project.The results show that the calibration field designed in this paper can easily and quickly test the performance of this kind of UAV.The result is stable and reliable and has certain universality.By using the calibration field on this paper to check the camera,whether under control or scarce control,the accuracy of the mapping is higher than that of the indoor camera.
