The Simao Basin and Kuqa Basin are important salt-bearing and potassium-producing basins in China. In this paper, origin of the salts of two salt-bearing basins were analyzed by Sr isotope composition, and combine with other geochemical factors, comparison the characteristics of two basin. The 87Sr/86Sr ratio of the L2 borehole core rock sample in the Mohei area of Simao Basin is between 0.7085-0.7097,combine with the published Sr isotope data. The 8'Sr/86Sr ratio of the salt rock in the Simao Basin is between 0.7075-0.7111,it is consistent with the Sr isotope composition of the Mesozoic-Cenozoic seawater(0.7068-0.7092).Some data values are high,it is speculated that origin of the salts of the Simao Basin may be mainly seawater and has the influence of terrigenous water. From the lateral direction, there is no significant difference of the Sr isotope composition of each salt-bearing zone; From the longitudinal direction, the change of the87Sr/86Sr ratio(ay reflect the periodicity of seawater recharge. The 87Sr/86Sr ratio of the salt rock samples in the Kuqa Basin is between 0.7090-0.7112,combined with the published Sr isotope data, the 87Sr/86Sr ratio of the salt rock in the Kuqa Basin is between 0.7087-0.7112,it is consistent with the Sr isotope composition of the Cenozoic seawater(0.7075-0.7092).Some data values are high,it is speculated that the salt source of the Kuqa Basin may be seawater and has mixed 1 terrigenous water. The Sr isotope composition of the western Kumugeliemu Formation salt rock is slightly lower than the eastern Jidike Formation salt rock,it's maybe reflecting the evolution characteristics of the basinComparing the Sr isotope composition,S isotope composition and Br of Simao Basin and Kuqa Basin,it is found that although the salt source of two Basin is mainly seawater, the degree of influence of terrigenous water is different,in contrast, the terrigenous impact of the Kuqa Basin is more significant. At the same time, some areas of the Simao Basin have reached the stage of potash deposition, while the Kuqa basin may not reach the stage of potassium deposition.
