Neutron activation analysis is a widely used method for qualitative and quantitative analysis of elements in materials,which has the advantages of high sensitivity,high accuracy,and non-destructive properties.Neutron activation analysis is often used in food safety detection.Some illegal businesses will add a large amount of talc powder into flour to increase its weight and make more profits.The main chemical component of talc is Mg3[Si4010](OH)2.By measuring the content of 24 Mg and 28 Si in flour,the content of talcum powder in flour can be calculated.The purpose of this paper is to verify the feasibility of this method through simulation and experiment,and to process the energy spectrum obtained by different methods,compare the effects of different methods after application,and select the most suitable method in this case.This paper mainly studies the following contents: 1.MCNP software was used to simulate the experiment.Flour samples with different talc content were set up and irradiated by 14 Me V neutron.The radiation intensity corresponding to 24 Mg and 28Si activation in the energy spectrum was obtained,and the talc content of the corresponding sample was linearly fitted.The ideal fitting effect proved that the method was feasible.2.Set up an experimental platform,make experimental samples,debug instruments,and carry out neutron activation experiments of flour samples containing talc powder.3.The experimental data were processed by different methods of resolving spectrum,and the calibration curve of talc content was obtained.The results were satisfactory,First,the background is deducted by trapezoidal method,then the characteristic peak area of 2754 ke V energy is calculated by Gauss fitting peak area method,and the correlation coefficient R2 of 2754 ke V energy is 0.98.4.Discuss the application of neutron activation method in the field of food detection,such as rice containing cadmium.
