Magnetotelluric sounding is a geophysical method to study the law of resistivity of underground medium by observing the surface electromagnetic field. This method is very important and widely used in geophysical methods. This research adopts EH-4 continuous conductivity imager and unique orthogonal magnetic dipole controllable source.Because of its advantages of fast,automatic,multi-frequency data acquisition,real-time imaging in situ, and its explorable depth in bedrock area is about 1000 meters,it is widely used in conductivity layer of underground rock and soil, buried depth of bedrock, groundwater exploration, division of saltwater-freshwater interface, metal ore deposit,etc./ Coalfield and other exploration, road exploration and other fields. In this paper, the active faults are studied by using the active faults. This research area is located in yinchuan basin. On the basis of summarization of previous data, combined with borehole data, regional gravity data, etc.,audio magnetotelluric sounding method and conventional radon measurement method are used to systematically analyze and study the faults and characteristics of yinchuan basin.Based on the data and results of this study,it lays a good foundation for the follow-up urban development of the study area.
