The diamond mine has entered the stage of resource depletion through the exploitati on for many years in Wafangdian area,so it's particularly urgent to look for new diamon d resources.In order to accelerate the diamond of exploration and development,it's necess ary to carry on the characteristics and genetic analysis research of the kimberlite pipes i n Dalitun area,Wafangdian.The paper discussed the genesis of the Kimberlite pipe on the basis of the distribution regularities,petrologic feature and geochemical features of the kimberlite pipes.The magma source of the No.30 kimberlite pipe is derived from the ult rabasic magma of the upper mantle,which is rich in incompatible elements,light rare-earth elements and haven't obvious evolution.The rock types belong to the ultrabasic rocks,which are rich in alkaline component.Kimberley rock belongs to type ? Kimberley rock.The characteristics of petrogenetic element are that the content of low SiO2 and MgO,hig h CaO?P2O5?Al2O3.Because of the influence from the magma,the kimberlite pipe rocks are enriched in Ta?Pb?Nd?Sm,but depleted of Ti?K?Rb?Sr?P.The kimberlite pipe was formed under the action of alternating with intrusion and eruption in the fault crossi ng area,where was intersection of the north-east fracture and east-west fracture in the N eopaleozoic.
