Three Gorges is located at the boundary between the second step and the third step of China's topography,the study of paleoclimate in the Three Gorges area is of great significance to the evolution of the Three Gorges area.Makes the research of Quaternary paleoclimate of Three Gorges has important practical significance to the construction and use of the Three Gorges project.Through the sedimentology,Quaternary geology and geochemistry and other subjects,Based on the planation and terrace sediments in the Three Gorges area and the Quaternary sediments and terrace sediments in the Yichang area,based on the planation surface,terrace sediments and Quaternary sediments,Yichang terrace sediments analysis of clay minerals and trace elements,Analysis the evolution of Three Gorges area and its adjacent areas of Quaternary climate,And try to find out factors which had caused climate change in the Three Gorges Area.Through the research,the following conclusions are obtained:1,Based on the study of Quaternary geomorphology and Quaternary sediments in the Three Gorges area and Yichang area,mainly includes the low planation surface,the terrace shape,the terrace form of Yichang area and the accumulation of the planation surface and terrace.It is found that the high terrace of the Three Gorges Area is the erosion terrace,the lower terrace is the accumulation terrace,and the Yichang terrace is the accumulation terrace,The low planation surface and high terrace sediments in the Three Gorges area are mainly red brown,the lower terrace covered by the loess,The color that change of planation surfaces and terrace sediment indicate paleoclimate change from warm humid to cold.2,Based on the analysis of clay minerals and trace elements in Quaternary sediments of the Three Gorges and Yichang area,the evolution of Quaternary paleoclimate in the Three Gorges area and Yichang area were established,And compared with the Quaternary paleoclimate evolution in the Three Gorges area and Yichang area,found that the paleoclimate climate in Three Gorges region and Yichang area have similar evolution trend.3,Discussion the factors of Quaternary climate change in the Three Gorges and its adjacent areas,Analysis of response to global climate change in the Three Gorges Area,To discuss the response phase of Qinghai Tibet Plateau uplift caused by climate change in Three Gorges Area,Analysis of the influence of Three Gorges run-through on the Quaternary climate in Three Gorges Area,It is concluded that the main causes of the Quaternary climate change in the Three Gorges area and Yichang area are the changes of the global paleoclimate and the uplift of the Qinghai Tibet plateau.
