The Lifeline engineering is a general term for infrastructure and engineering systems that maintain urban and regional economic and social functions.The seismic and post-earthquake treatment and maintenance work of the lifeline engineering is particularly important in the work of dealing with earthquake disasters.Through the calculation and research of the direct economic loss of the earthquake,the impact of the target engineering on this(or predicted)earthquake can be intuitively understood from the economic level.The results of the assessment will be used as the basic data for postearthquake rescue,repair work,and sometimes as the basic data for earthquake plans.In this paper,an improved method based on linear difference is proposed for the prediction of the direct economic loss of earthquakes in some lifeline engineering.A large number of examples are calculated and compared.The specific research contents of this paper include:1)Domestic and international evaluation of seismic loss of lifeline engineering and its direct economic loss are explained,then summarized the existing problems in the traditional method of calculating the direct economic loss of lifeline engineering.Aiming at solving the problems combining with the actual situation,the requirements that the improved method should met are presented.2)A detailed introduction to the seismic loss assessment method of some lifeline engineering are made.The assessment methods are meanly based on national standards,including empirical statistics,empirical statistical regression,semi-empirical and semitheoretical methods,and crack width methods for pools.3)A introduction to the traditional calculation method for seismic direct economic loss analysis of some lifeline engineering is made.At the same time,based on the linear difference method,a corresponding improvement method is proposed for each engineering introduced.4)According to the traditional method and the improved method,analyzed and calculated a large number of examples.The results of the two methods are compared.It is concluded that the improved method can effectively overcome the problem of the lack of discrimination of the traditional method,and at the same time it is simple and easy to accept.Prove the scientific nature of the improved method.
