With the maturity of fields, the heterogeneity characterization of reservoirs for development is increased. The remaining oil identification becomes the critical sue. This needs the integration of existing data for reservoir characterization.Seismic-driven modeling is a method to integrate seismic and other data.Using formation transfer function through the existing seismic data and well data, the reservoir property can be estimated. It is more accurate than geostatistical methods particularly in large well spacing areas.Because of limited lateral resolution of logs, its capability to characterize interwell property is poor. While seismic data has good lateral resolution, but limited resolution in vertical. It is difficult to characterize the reservoir with strong heterogeneity.Seismic-driven geological modeling is to combine both log and seismic. This method calculates pseudo-log which can match both log and seismic data. The final model can be more accurate and reliable. When using seismic data to describe fluvial facies sandbody,it is difficult to identify thin layers due to the resolution limitation.Sandbody superposition patterns form sedimentary model may be used.Corresponding with the sandbody superposition patterns of fluvial facies, generalized geophysical models are built for identification of the patterns. However,if only seismic waveform is used to identify superposition patterns,it will be easily limited by seismic resolution. To improve the resolution ability, seismic attributes of target area are extracted to establish seismic multi-attribute templates. The sandbody superposition patterns of thin layers can be identified through correlation analysis between the templates and seismic attributes. The superposition patterns provided a modified reservoir modeling with seismic and logs.
