The hollow tempered glass and hollow tempered laminated glass have a gas interlayer of a certain thickness, which have the advantages of shielding natural light radiation, sound insulation and heat insulation. As widely used curtain wall structure in the construction industry, they are followed by the impact safety research on themselves. It is found that the experiments of rigid body low-speed impact on hollow tempered glass and hollow tempered laminated glass are seldom involved, and the research contents are scarce. At present, there is a lack of basic research on its impact failure process. Therefore,it is particularly important to study the impact resistance of hollow tempered glass and hollow tempered laminated glass. In this paper,ABAQUS finite element analysis software is used to carry out mode analysis of the designed hammer to ensure that the scheme meets the dynamic requirements of this experiment. At the same time, the safety trial calculation is carried out for the load-bearing device of the specimen, and the design of the device is improved according to the simulation results to ensure the safety of it in the impact test.On this basis, the impact load experiments of hollow tempered glass and hollow tempered laminated glass were carried outwith drop hammer loading device. The dynamic response of it was studied. The influence of changing size and the thickness of the air interlayer on the performance were analyzed emphatically. The research results of the hollow tempered glass are as follows.(1)The influence of specimen size change on impact resistance was studied. The results show that when the impacted glass is not broken,a large number of divergent cracks and annular cracks appear. The impact load decreases and the impact time increases with the increase of specimen size. When the specimen is impacted and broken, the impact load decreases, the impact time increases and the energy absorption efficiency increases with the increase of the specimen size.Considering comprehensively, the performance of 800×800mm size specimens is slightly worse.(2)The influence of changing the thickness of the air interlayer on the impact resistance was studied. The results show that the impact load of 10 mm air thickness specimen is the smallest and the impact time is the longest when the impacted glass is not broken. For the rest of the glass, with the increase of air thickness, the impact load increases and the impact time decreases. When the specimen is impacted and broken, the performance of10 mm air thickness specimen is poor. The impact load and energy absorption efficiency of the remaining specimens increase with the increase of air thickness. The research results of the hollow tempered laminated glass are as follows.(1)The influence of specimen size change on impact resistance was studied. The results show that when the impacted glass is not broken, the impact load increases with the increase of specimen size. When the specimen is impacted and broken,a large number of divergent cracks and annular cracks appear. The impact load, the impact time, and the energy absorption efficiency increases with the increase of the specimen size. The impact load test was carried out on the fractured specimens, and the bearing capacity after fragmentation was analyzed. It is found that the impact resistance of 600×600mm specimens is the strongest and that of 800×800mm specimens is the weakest at this moment.(2)The influence of changing the thickness of the air interlayer on the impact resistance was studied. When the impacted glass is not broken,it is found that the impact resistance of 8 mm air thickness specimen is the strongest while that of 10 mm and 12 mm air thickness specimen is relatively weak. When the specimen is impacted and broken,8mm air thickness specimens have the strongest impact load resistance and the shortest impact time.At the same time the impact resistance of 10 mm and 12 mm air thickness specimens is relatively weak and the time is relatively long. The energy absorption efficiency increases with the increase of air thickness. The impact load test was carried out on the fractured specimens, and the bearing capacity after fragmentation was analyzed. It is found that the impact resistance of 8mm air thickness specimen is the strongest, followed by 12 mm air thickness specimen and the 6 mm air thickness is the worst.
