Optoelectronic information technology is the basis of modern communications to exist and develop,making it is possible to build a large-scale and high-speed communication network.The alignment and fusion of the optical fiber is an important factor affecting the optical fiber communication.The high-precision and low-loss alignment for the optical fiber can contribute to an excellent optical fiber communication network.Currently,the commercialized optical fiber alignment and fusion machine generally utilizes two light microscopes to help adjust the relative positions of the two optical fibers.But it requires two very precision clamping stages.In addition,with the improvement of the manufacturing technique,the telecentric lens with high resolution,low distortion and constant magnification arises at the historic moment,which has good performance in the field of precision measurement.In this paper,telecentric lens is applied to optical fiber alignment and get rid of the limitation of precision fixture.Visual servo is applied to realize the precise alignment of optical fiber in 5 degrees of freedom.The paper mainly includes the following aspects:First of all,the feature extraction of fiber is the basis of obtaining the relative attitude of the optical fiber.When the feature points are extracted more precisely,a more accuracy reconstruction of the optical fibers can be obtained.On the other hand,the dynamic detection of the fiber attitude needs a fast image processing algorithm.In order to take into account the fiber feature extraction of high precision and high speed,a fast subpixel optical fiber image processing algorithm based on the fitting method is proposed in this paper for the characteristics of optical fiber image.Then,the matching of feature points is the key point of optical fiber 3D reconstruction.Considering the simple features of the fiber,there is no redundant texture information.An algorithm for extracting feature points of optical fiber based on geometric constraints is proposed in this paper.Moreover,in view of the characteristics of the telecentric vision system,a method of fast estimation of the basic matrix is proposed,and the reconstruction of the optical fiber in the three-dimensional scene is realized.Next,the strategy of fiber optic alignment is studied.The whole platform is decoupled,and a two-step alignment strategy is proposed based on the existing equipment.And the "sluggish" phenomenon caused by the image processing time in the system is compensated.The visual servo control of optical fiber alignment is realized to some extent.Finally,the system is integrated.A lot of repeated tests have been done on the process of optical fiber alignment,and the factors that affect the alignment of the fiber are also analyzed.The experiment shows that the system can quickly and accurately realize the alignment of optical fiber,and has strong robustness.
