Yangshan Gold Mine in Wen county,Gansu province is the largest Carlin-like gold mine in Asia.When it is completed and put into production in the future,the mine will be a strong economic growth point in Gansu province,which can drive the overall economic development of the surrounding areas and the western region of China.However,this region has long been a region prone to be threaten by geological disasters.Moreover,it is also relatively rarely seen that previous studies are made on the impact of geological structure development on geological disasters.This paper makes the field survey of the field geological mapping project and adopts methods of making directional slices from rock samples on fold structures and the comprehensive study of indoor collected data.Meanwhile,this paper studies the geological structural characteristics of Wen County and Yangshan Region from macro and micro perspective respectively,and makes statistics on the development and distribution of geological disasters.Besides,this paper also studies the influence of structural characteristics on geological disasters,which is of certain theoretical research significance and practical application value for the causes of geological disasters and can provide certain theoretical and technical support for the prevention and mitigation of geological disasters.The main research results are listed as follows:(1)The geological characteristics of Wen County and Yangshan Region are analyzed from a macro perspective.The typical fold structures are selected and rock samples are taken to make directional slices.Meanwhile,the rock stress is observed from a micro perspective.(2)The spatial relationship of geological structure development is studied and analyzed.It is found that large-scale fold structure would produce large ore-bearing space,whose two wings are often accompanied by large-scale fracture zones rich in soil,gravel and other substances.(3)The engineering geological conditions of Yangshan Gold Mining Area is studied.Combined with the development and distribution of landslide,debris flow and other geological disasters,the reasons why the development of geological structure changes the characteristics of rock and soil mass and further affects the occurrence of geological disasters are specifically analyzed.(4)The geological structure plays a direct control role on the development of geomorphology.The occurrence of geological disasters can be regarded as the manifestation of the response of geomorphology to the development of geological structures to a certain extent.Moreover,the intensity of the development of geological disasters can also reflect the intensity of structural development to a certain extent.(5)The influence of geological structure characteristics is studied on geological disasters in Wen County and Yangshan Gold Mining Area.It is found that the types and distribution rules of local geological disasters would help successfully complete the planning tasks of Gansu Province's " 13 th Five-Year Plan" and " 14 th Five-Year Plan" in this area,and also provide certain theoretical guidance and technical support for local residents to prevent and avoid areas with high occurrence of geological disasters such as landslide and debris flow and so on.Meanwhile,it also provides the safe exploration and smooth completion and operation of Yangshan Gold Mine.
