Meshing is the most important part of the casting simulation pre-processing module.The generation of non-uniform mesh can reduce the number of meshes and become an important research direction in the field of meshing research.In this paper,based on the finite difference mesh,the related theoretical techniques and applications of non-uniform meshing are deeply studied.The adaptive non-uniform meshing algorithm based on octree is proposed.Moreover,the thickness calculation theory of casting models based on non-uniform mesh generated by octree is deeply studied,which proposes a calculation method for the thickness of casting models.The main contents include:1.Through the research and analysis of the model file,establish the octree model,introduce the boundary condition of the node growth and the mesh smoothing model,and analyze the influence of the algorithm parameters on the mesh generation in the boundary condition.The finite difference meshing algorithm of octree is proposed,which could automatically identify model features to generate adaptive non-uniform meshes,and the corresponding meshing calculation program is developed.2.Using the open source software GTS to calculate the distance field of the obtained non-uniform mesh,generate the corresponding gradient field,introduce the middle-axis mesh model,and propose the fold line approximation method to calculate the mesh model with gradient field.The axis grid,in turn,gives the thickness distribution of each region of the casting.3.Based on the meshing and thickness calculation algorithm studied in this paper,the corresponding software calculation module is developed,and the casting models in multiple actual production are calculated,and the theoretical calculation results are compared with the geometric model of the casting.At the same time,the maximum depth of octree growth in the mesh model and the influence of the algorithm parameters of the fold line approximation method on the calculation results of the wall thickness of the casting are discussed.This paper mainly studies the adaptive non-uniform meshing based on octree and its application in the calculation of casting model thickness.The research results provide an important reference for non-uniform mesh generation in casting numerical simulation.The calculation of the wall thickness of castings provides new research ideas.
