China has much less research on volcanic rocks in oil fields than conventional sandstone reservoirs.Researching the transformation of volcanic activity on the landforms, the effect of volcanic materials on sandstones on the microscopic level, and the differences between volcanic materials and detrital materials are conducive to better understanding.Sandy reservoirs affected by volcanic activity and prediction of advantageous reservoirs are of great significance for oilfield exploration and oilfield development. This paper takes the volcanic rocks in the third section of Shahejie Formation of Wangguantun Oilfield in the southern Huanghua Depression as an example to study the effect of volcanic rock geomorphology on the distribution of sedimentary reservoirs in the Shahejie Formation, the effect of volcanic materials on the physical properties of the Shahejie Formation, and the relationship between volcanic rocks and reservoir oil and water. The effect of distribution.Three sections of basic basalt are developed in the Member 3 of Shahejie Formation in Wangguantun Area. The basalt in the Shasan 2 oil group is the most widely distributed, and the basalt in the Guan 3 area is the thickest. The basalt in the Guan 187 area is also thick and continuous. As volcanic material accumulates and the terrain becomes higher, the space occupied by sandstone deposits is occupied by volcanic rocks. The thickness of the overlying sandstone exhibits a negative correlation with the thickness of basalt, leading to thin or no distribution of sandstone reservoirs in Guan 3 area. The volcanic material in Wangguantun area has a significant impact on the compaction, cementation, and dissolution of sandy reservoirs. The combination of dense basalt formations and volcanic channels in the Kongdong fault forms a similar “shaped” structure, weakening the compaction. As a result, the hydrolysis of basalt makes it easy to form calcite cement or tape in sandy reservoirs. The susceptibility of basalt rock debris in sand reservoirs and the susceptibility of altered products make the reservoir prone to secondary porosity. There are two phenomena in the influence of basalt on the distribution of oil and water, dense basalts are widely distributed as cover or lateral shielding, and stomatal fracture basalts are often limited distribution as reservoirs or oil and gas migration pathways, are patchy and discontinuous.
