The traditional isolation technology adopts the form of parallel isolation of energy isolation and energy dissipation, which can effectively reduce the hazard of earthquake action. After adding the damper to the isolation layer, the response displacement of the superstructure is significantly reduced, but the response of the acceleration, the base shear force shows an increasing trend. In order to control the displacement of the isolation layer and increase the response acceleration of the superstructure, this paper proposes a basic isolation structure of Maxwell unit with a series of coil springs and oil dampers(easy to provide high damping).Compared with the base isolation structure with pure damper, the seismic response characteristics of the base isolation structure of the additional Maxwell damper are analyzed and compared. In this paper, the basic structural elements of the basic structure are analyzed, and the ideal physical model of the Maxwell base-isolated structure is given. The formula is derived to verify the significant decrease of the acceleration transfer rate of the Maxwell model in the high-order frequency range. In this paper, five mass points(including six mass points of the basic isolation layer)are used as engineering examples, and different types of ground motion data of RBS000,KAK000,and TAF111 are input, and the vibration mode decomposition method(mainly considering the first three modes)is used to obtain the ground motion data. Each mode shape responds to displacement, acceleration and damping forces and performs vibration mode superposition.Through the seismic response analysis of acceleration, displacement and damping force of the structure, the results demonstrate that the Maxwell base isolation structure can effectively reduce the response acceleration of the superstructure while controlling the displacement of the isolation structure.
