Since reform and development,China has been committed to the cause of poverty alleviation and poverty alleviation,and has achieved world-renowned achievements.By 2020,all rural poor people will be lifted out of poverty,which is a solemn commitment made by the Party Central Committee to the people of the whole country.It is related to the comprehensive construction of a well-off society.Governments at all levels increase financial investment and poverty alleviation.The development of poor areas has become a government and people's concerns.In the past,poverty research mostly relied on sampling surveys and other methods to obtain economic statistical data,which not only required a lot of human,material and financial resources,but also interfered with certain human factors,and the data update also lags,which cannot be satisfied to a certain extent.The need for rapid social development now.In recent years,although there are literatures on poverty research in my country based on night-time remote sensing data,most of them stay in poverty identification,and there are few studies to assess the development status of poor areas.Therefore,this study introduces night light remote sensing technology to study the development of poor regions in my country.Based on making up for the shortcomings of previous research,it not only enriches the annual data of NPP-VIIRS,but also provides a theoretical basis and reference for studying poverty.This study used night light remote sensing data to monitor and analyze the development status of 592 key impoverished counties and 14 concentrated contiguous destitute areas.By comparing the currently popular night lighting data,select some of the original monthly data of NPP-VIIRS to synthesize annual data according to the average method;Use standard annual data to eliminate negative values,unstable light sources and background noise in synthetic annual data,remove extremely high values based on mathematical statistical analysis,and perform continuous correction based on 2019 synthetic annual data as the benchmark data,and finally synthesized Long-term series of NPP-VIIRS annual night lighting data,and comparative verification of the synthesis results;Build a regional light index model,select Chongqing as a sample area for correlation analysis of light index and county development level,and select a binomial function as a fitting model,revealing the change of night light intensity in poor counties and concentrated poor areas from a spatiotemporal perspective trends and developments.Research indicates:(1)The NPP-VIIRS annual data synthesis method is reliable and scientific.By comparing the synthetic data with other three types of NPP-VIIRS nighttime light data,it shows that the quality of the synthetic data is comparable to the official annual data.(2)The regional light index has a high correlation with the county's development level,of which the best fitting effect with GDP is 0.8789.(3)The overall light intensity of 592 national key poverty-stricken counties shows a rapid growth year by year;although there is still a certain gap compared with the average level of the provincial capital cities,this gap is developing towards a narrowing trend.(4)The trend of overall light intensity growth in 14 concentrated contiguous destitute areas is obvious;Most of the mountainous areas are of medium-speed growth type,and the rapidly developing concentrated contiguous areas are Liupan Mountainous area and Dabie Mountainous area;Based on the standard deviation ellipse analysis method,the standard deviation ellipse contracted in 6 areas and expanded in 8 areas.
