We summarized the history and current research progress of the Sagittarius stream. We studied the structure, velocity and chemical abundance distribution of the Sagittarius stream in the paper.According to the position and distance distribution,we finally selected out 158 M-giant stars and 1599 K-giant stars of the Sagittarius stream. From the samples,we found that the distribution of the leading arm and the trailing arm in the position, distance, velocity and other parameters are quite different. In the three-dimensional velocity distribution diagram,we can see the clear orbit plane of the Sagittarius stream in the(X,Z)plane. In the(X,Y)diagram, the velocity distribution of the samples is relatively regular, the velocity distribution of the samples with similar position is almost the same.In the(Y,Z)plane, the samples are clustered. In this paper,we presented the orbit distribution and metallicity distribution of the Sagittarius stream. This large member of data provides the search foundations for further other chemical abundance exploring for the Sagittarius stream.
