In recent years, the exploration of glutenite reservoir is the most important task in Junggar Basin. The reservoir of Marjorie lake area is characterized by complex composition, large change of grain size, complex and changeable pore structure, low porosity and permeability, and large change of fluid viscosity, which makes it difficult to identify fluid properties and brings huge difficulties to reservoir evaluation.Because of its low resolution and poor sensitivity to complex oil and gas reservoirs, the system of conventional well logging evaluation theory is not applicable to glutenite reservoirs with complex geological conditions.NMR logging has been widely used in well logging evaluation of complex oil and gas reservoirs in Junggar Basin because it can provide reservoir parameters that are independent of lithology, such as NMR porosity and saturation. In view of the problems in the actual logging interpretation work, the paper summarizes the lithological characteristics, physical characteristics, electrical characteristics,oil-bearing characteristics and logging response characteristics of the research block on the basis of the full study and analysis of reservoir geology, gas logging and geochemical logging data, well logging response features and electrical imaging data.On the foundation of petrophysical characteristics and conventional logging response,a set of methods were developed to evaluate reserviors using conventional logging data. The paper carried out core NMR experiment and mercury injection experiment and analyzed the NMR relaxation characteristics of the reservoir.Combined with conventional logging data,a comprehensive identification method for the fluid was established. In addition,a series of well logging evaluation techniques for low porosity and permeability glutenite reservoirs in the junggar basin were developed, which extended the application methods and techniques of NMR logging for glutenite reservior. These mentioned methods above have been applied effectively in the targetarea, and plays a guiding role in the Junggar Basin.
