Since the successful manufacture of metamaterials in 2000,because of its important application in physical engineering,information engineering,material science and other fields,it has been deeply studied by many scholars.Hyperbolic metamaterials are one of the metamaterials,for specific electromagnetic waves,Under certain conditions,its dispersion curve is hyperbolic.This type of dispersion curve will have a strong anisotropy property,which can support the transmission of large wave vector,and the ability of regulating electromagnetic wave is beyond other materials.This paper mainly studied the hyperbolic metamaterials in time domain finite element method(FEM)of Maxwell's equations.Firstly introduces hyperbolic metamaterials dispersion theory,then introduces two kinds of preparation methods of hyperbolic metamaterials.Secondly,we established the hyperbolic metamaterials mathematical model and finite element method of electromagnetic wave propagation in time domain.Finally,its one of the model is established for optimum qualitative theory and the relative stability of the finite element results.
