With the advancement of exploration concepts and technologies, deep and shale plays have become hotspots in global oil exploration. This paper selects two important petroliferous basins which have similar hydrocarbon accumulation characteristics,Sichuan Basin and Permian Basin. The paper adopted the comprehensive analysis method of petroleum geology, based on the latest data from various aspects, analyzed the tectonic and sedimentary evolution characteristics of two basins, revealed the similarities and differences of hydrocarbon accumulation rules between two basins. The results show that:(1)Two basins have similar regional tectonic setting and sedimentary environment;(2)The high-quality reservoirs of Permian Basin experienced early dolomitization and karstification, accompanied by early filling of hydrocarbon, while Sichuan Basin deep reservoirs are mainly controlled by sedimentary facies and karstification.;(3)Shale source rocks of two basins were both developed in the deep-water shelf environment, and the fractures developed;the thickness of the source rocks in Permian Basin is large, the TOC content is high, the maturity is moderate, and the oil is dominant;the source rocks of the Sichuan Basin are buried deep, and have experienced higher paleotemperature, high maturity, and mainly produce gas.Relatively stable tectonic setting, good preservation conditions and high quality shale stratigraphic development are the main factors controlling shale hydrocarbon enrichment.
