The problem of dyeing is a relatively common problem in domestic and foreign mathematics competitions, and they are closely related to middle school mathematics.Solving such problems often does not require deep theoretical knowledge, but requires strong thinking, analysis and observation skills. As a method of classification, dyeing is also intuitive in classification. In mathematical competitions, there are many problems related to dyeing. Therefore, studying the problem of dyeing is of great significance for the development of mathematical competitions. The first chapter of this paper first describes the research background, meaning and current status of research on domestic and foreign dyeing problems. The second chapter studies the theoretical knowledge of graph theory, sets, and geometry. The third chapter details the common types of dyeing problems in competitions, and gives some analysis ideas of examples. The fourth chapter, based on the third chapter, refers to the competition questions related to domestic and foreign dyeing problems in recent years to promote the common types of dyeing problems from different angles and draw eleven new conclusions. The innovations of this paper are:(1)Different dyeing problems are promoted from different angles, and new conclusions are drawn.(2)Many questions that do not seem to be dyeing problems are interpreted with the idea of dyeing.(3)The intensity of changes to some problems is greater.Compared with the original problem, the difficulty of the proposition is much higher, and the method used to solve the problem is different from the original problem. This article mainly summarizes the common dyeing problems through literature analysis, and obtains new conclusions by popularizing and adapting the original problems.
