Rare metal refers to the metal which is less in the earth's crust,scattered or hard to extract from raw materials.In recent years,rare metals have played an important role in all kinds of high-end scientific fields.In the national mineral resources planning(2016-2020),rare metals are listed as strategic key minerals.Therefore,it is necessary to carry out research on new exploration technology of rare metals.Among the rare metal minerals,lithium and niobium tantalum are the most important minerals in China.Both lithium and niobium tantalum deposits have granitic pegmatite type deposits,which are of high grade and easy to mine,and are important sources of lithium and niobium tantalum deposits in China.In the granitic pegmatite type lithium deposits,niobium tantalum deposits can often be delineated as separate ore bodies,and in the granitic pegmatite type niobium tantalum deposits,the grade of lithium can often be used comprehensively.Therefore,this paper takes the granitic pegmatite type deposits of two types as specific research objects.Based on the X-ray fluorescence technology of hand-held X-ray fluorescence instrument,this paper chooses one exploration area from three representative geochemical landscapes(semi-arid,alpine and deep cut mountain landscape area,accumulating desert and Gobi landscape area,semi humid hilly landscape area)in China.Taking the three selected exploration areas as the research objects,the following research work has been carried out:(1)Guided by the geochemical theory of rare metal deposits,through the study of spectral lines obtained by hand-held X-ray fluorescence instrument,the fluorescent elements and mapping parameters that can effectively indicate the pegmatite rare metal ores are screened,and the relevant technical problems of capturing and displaying the ore-induced X-ray fluorescence anomalies in soil are solved.(2)With the hand-held X-ray fluorescence instrument as the tool,the survey lines crossing the typical ore bodies were set up in three exploration areas to carry out the soil X-ray fluorescence survey,and the characteristics of the abnormal element combination,abnormal amplitude and abnormal distribution in the ore bodies were studied,providing the basis and technical support for the establishment of the X-ray fluorescence method for rapid evaluation of the ore bearing properties of pegmatite in different geochemical landscape areas.(3)Based on the analysis and comparison of the X-ray fluorescence anomalies of the pegmatite rare metal ore in the three exploration areas,a new X-ray fluorescence exploration method for pegmatite rare metal ore was established by using the fourth generation of hand-held X-ray fluorescence instrument to rapidly evaluate the ore-bearing property of granitic pegmatite through soil measurement.
