The litich pericarp is the main byproduct of litchi processing industry;some studies found that lychee pericarp is rich in biologically active substances,such as proanthocyanidins and so on.Proanthocyanidins caused widespread concern because of its antioxidant and anticancer avtivity.Some studies found that procyanidins formed atherosclerotic the main process macrophage bubble has a certain role in the prevention and treatment,in-depth study of the role of proanthocyanidins,has important implications for the prevention and treatment of atherosclerotic disease.The trial put litich pericarp as raw material;studied the different composition and the antioxidant activity of proanthocyanidins in varieties,then,isolated procyanidins monomer component form litich pericarp,meanwhile,and its resistance to oxidation and macrophage foam.The results are as follows:1.Differences of proanthocyanidins content and antioxidant capacity in different varieties of litchi pericarpThe study on 11 varieties of litchi pericarp content and antioxidant activity of procyanidins,the black leaf of LPPE has the highest content in proanthocyanidins reach to 22.76mgEPE/g;meanwhile,comparative study the antioxidant activity of different LPPE in different antioxidant systems,such as ABTS,FRAP and ORAC method,the resultfound tnat the black leaf has the highest value of antioxidant capacity in the method of ABTS and ORAC,while in the system of FRAP,the clove value is the highest.2.Differences in the components of proanthocyanidins in varieties of litchi pericarpThe Study on different varieties of litchi pericarp the procyanidins component show that different varieties of litchi pericarp contained same components of proanthocyanidins,including epicatechin and procyanidins A2 and procyanidins B2.However,its content is different,epicatechin is the highest in total content proanthocyanidins,the proportion more than 50%of the total proanthocyanidins,next is the procyanidins A2,and procyanidins B2 content minimum.3.Purification and antioxidant activity of proanthocyanidins component form LPPEThe separation of the monomer component of proanthocyanidins studies have shown that its antioxidant effects:isolated and purified from litchi pericarp two procyanidins monomer component involving of epicatechin and procyanidins A2.The study found that procyanidins A2 has the highest antioxidant capacity,the value of ORAC and CAA is 30.38?molTE/g and 55.88?molQE/100g respectively.In addition,the study also found a new substance be known as dehydrogenase epicatechin,this substance was first discovered in the colors of the raw materil.4.The different components of proanthocyanidins inhibit the foaming of macrophageProcyanidins of different component of the the macrophage foam role research shows that:the different components of proanthocyanidins have different degrees of inhibition of the foaming macrophage which the most significant inhibitory effect of procyanidins A2,compared with the control group,in itsthe concentration of 100?g/mL,and the intracellular content of cholesterol ester(CE/TE)decreased from 67.28%to 27.93%;epicatechin high dose(100?g/mL),the CE/TE from 66.39%dropped 47.28%,the low-dose group(100?g/mL)significantly inhibited.
