The vanadium titanomagnetite,newly discovered in western Liaoning Province,is the rare vanadium titanomagnetite that contains high concentration of V,Ti and low level of iron in our country.The traditional blast furnace for smelting of vanadium extraction doesn't apply to this vanadium titanomagnetite.Based on that,a method used to recover vanadium from the vanadium titanomagnetite was developed,and it can not only extract vanadium but also utilize titanium and iron comprehensively.The windleading walldrying bed roasting shaft furnace was proposed through taking example of pelletizing shaft furnace which was usually used in the iron and steel sectors.The Compact Process Extractingvanadium with short process,less investment and other characteristics eliminates the traditional blast furnaceConvertervanadium slagging process.The Processes are commonly employed in Compact extracting vanadium Process comprising roasting,leaching,purification of aqueous solution,and precipitation steps.Among them,roasting and leaching play important roles in the whole process chain of vanadium.Hence,the effects of process parameters of roasting and leaching on V extraction efficiency were investigated using experimental methods and appropriate structure and operating parameters of roasting shaft furnace were investigated using the analytical method.Thus laid the foundation for subsequent indepth fundamental research and technical research.Some conclusions were drawn as follows(1)The process parameters of RoastingLeachingThe maximum vanadium recovery of about 82%was achieved when the vanadiumtitanium magnetite with the mixed additives of 4.8%Na2CO3.1%NaCl?3.5%Na2SO4 is roasted at 750?850? for 8 h and water leaching the roasted mixture at room temperature for 24 h with L/S ratio of 3:1 mL/g or at 90? for 1.5 h with L/S ratio of 3:1 mL/g,then acid leaching using 5%of sulfuric acid at room temperature for 24 h with L/S ratio of 4:1 mL/g.(2)The structure and operating parameters of roasting shaft furnaceBased on the existing roasting shaft furnace,the preheating roasting zone height can't meet Design capacity requirementsof 660 t/a(V2O5),suitable for production of 460 t/a(V2O5),at this point,the volume flow rate of a gas,combustion air,cooling air are 990 m3/h,1810 m3/h,2450 m3/h respectively.In order to meet the 660 t/a(V2O5)design requirements,the preheating roasting zone height increases to 3.524 m(1.3 m more than the original),at this point,the volume flow rate of a gas,combustion air,cooling air are 1800 m3/h,3300 m3/h,3500 m3/h respectively.
