In the process of large automobile die processing, the hardness of different bearing areas is different. In order to improve the efficiency of die manufacturing,we usually process the spliced die steel with certain hardness difference.Due to the high hardness, the complex structure and the poor hardness of splicing, the friction characteristics between tool and workpiece are complex, tool wear is serious, and the quality of surface machining is difficult to guarantee. In view of the above problems, this paper studies the friction characteristics of tool workpiece, tool wear and workpiece machined surface morphology during the process of jointing die milling. The main contents are as follows.First, the friction and wear characteristics of the tool workpiece are studied. The friction and wear characteristics of die steel disc are studied by finite element simulation, and the stress distribution in the wear zone of the die steel and the hard alloy is analyzed. After that, the friction and wear rules of die steel and cemented carbide under different test conditions were obtained through friction and wear test. Finally, the wear mechanism of die steel and cemented carbide was studied by scanning electron microscope.Secondly, the tool wear morphology and mechanism of the splicing die milling are studied through the milling test. The cutting tool wear law of the plane splicing workpiece at different spindle speeds is analyzed.Through the super depth microscope, the changing process of tool wear morphology during the milling process of different geometry shapes under the same milling parameter was compared. After that, the mechanism of tool wear was analyzed by scanning electron microscope and energy spectrum analyzer. The milling force and the mutation of the milling force in different hardness regions of different tool wear in the milling process are analyzed. Finally, the surface quality of workpiece mold processing and splicing is studied, mainly analyzes the spindle speed, feed per tooth, milling width, cutting depth and tool wear influence on the surface morphology, surface analysis of surface morphology change process under different process parameters and different parameters of roughness.Through the study on friction and wear properties, splicing die hard milling process of tool wear and splicing die hard milling surface of workpiece, can grasp the failure rules provide theoretical guidance and give full play to the cutting performance and tool, and to reduce the tool wear, put forward a new solution to improve the surface quality of the workpiece.
