Microcrystalline graphite,commonly known as"earth-shaped graphite".The ore fixed carbon content of it is generally about 60~80%,and very few can reach 90%or more.The grain diameter of the microcrystalline graphite ore is extremely small,and the graphite particles are densely combined with other ores and embedded in the clay.Therefore,they are difficult to dissociate and the entrainment is serious in the flotation process,resulting in incomplete flotation in the flotation process.It is the main reason for the poor flotation of microcrystalline graphite ore.In addition,the current storage of flake graphite is getting lower and lower.However,in many cases,microcrystalline graphite directly utilizes ore,and there are few high-value-added products,resulting in relatively few relevant research reports,and lack of theoretical basis and process equipment.This is a problem that we need to solve.This paper takes microcrystalline graphite of Chenzhou,Hunan Province as the research object,systematically explores the influence of various variables on flotation during the flotation process,and determines the best flotation process.In this paper,the microcrystalline graphite flotation subjected to chemical purification.The method of alkali leaching and acid leaching is mainly used to further purify the flotation concentrate,and better process conditions are obtained.The main research results are as follows:First,the microcrystalline graphite ore was studied.After its particle size distribution,mineral composition,and chemical element analysis were explored,the fixed carbon content was calculated to be 82.08%,mainly composed of quartz,mica,chlorite,calcite,hematite,etc.It's particle size distribute mainly between 0.3?m~0.6?m,accounting for about 80%.Secondly,the flotation experiment program was confirmed after the analysis of the ore,and a better flotation process was obtained:microcrystalline graphite ore with 9%mass pulp,3150 g/t diesel oil,1426 g/t 2~#oil consumption,25.2 g/t carboxymethyl cellulose dosage,rotation speed 1700 rpm,aeration capacity 90 L/h,and primary grinding and selection 5 times.The fixed carbon content of the ore can be increased from 82.08%to 90.79%,and the carbon recovery rate was 90.92%.Finally,after chemically purifying the flotation concentrate,the ore size distribution,mineral composition and chemical elements of the concentrate were analyzed.Therefore,the main metachemical composition in the concentrate and the experimental scheme for the alkali leaching and acid leaching were determined.The program obtained a better chemical purification process:50 g microcrystalline graphite powder,35 g sodium hydroxide,reacted at 400 ~oC for 2 hours,and then soaked in hydrochloric acid with a concentration of 1 mol/L for 2 hours.The fixed carbon content is 90.02%and float concentrate grade was increased to99.21%.
