The disposal of construction waste has become the serious problem that current society has to solve,and waste brick masonry and waste concrete share the largest component in construction waste now.An effective way to solve the problem of construction waste is crushing and screening the construction waste into recycled aggregates,and then fabricate recycled aggregate concrete(RAC)containing recycled clay brick aggregates(termed as RAC-RCBA).However,compared with normal aggreegate concrete,the strength of RAC-RCBA is lower and more discrete.Therefore,more and more researchers are trying to use all kinds of fiber reinforced ploymer(FRP)to improve the mechanical properties of recycled aggregate concrete.Polyester fiber reinforced ploymer(PFRP),as a new type of FRP composite material,has a very low price and great elongation at break,thus has broad application prospects.The combination of RAC-RCBA and PFRP has the probability to be dissipative member in structure,and it also has the probability to be used in post-disaster reconstruction in earthquake regions,it is convenient to use local materials and effective to resist aftershocks.The mechanical properties of concrete are influenced by the size and slenderness ratio of the specimen.In practical engineering,most concrete members are large size components.While subject to conditions such as test site and load ability,hodiernal labs could only conduct concrete experiment with small and medium size specimens,most of the research conclusion also come from medium and small size specimen s.Therefore,with the purpose to apply the results of medium and small size specimens in lab test to practical engineering,size effect of concrete must be studied.In this paper,the size effect of polyester FRP tube encased recycled aggregate concrete with recycled clay brick aggregate under axial compression has been investigated,the main work and achievements are listed as follows:(1)Material performance research of RAC-RCBA: the physical and mechanical property research has been conducted on components of RAC-RCBA,the mix proportion of RAC-RCBA has been designed according to the method of additional water consumption(AWC).(2)Tensile test research of PFRP sheet: the flat coupon test was conducted on 1 layer polyester fabric and 2 layer,4 layer,6 layer,8 layer and 12 layer PFRP sheets,the basic mechanical property of the PFRP sheets were obtained from the test.(3)The experiment of size effect performance of RAC-RCBA under monotonic axial compression load: axial compression test research on cylinders with five different size and three different slenderness ratio was conducted.The failure modle was observed,the strength,ductility,energy performance,axial stress-strain relationships and axial strain-lateral strain relationships were analysed in this paper.(4)Intuitive analysis and statistical analysis on size effect of RAC-RCBA: the results of compression text was analysed systematically throuth intuitive analysis and single factor variance analysis,and how size and slenderness ratio influenced the transitional strength,transitional strain,ultimate strength and ultimate strain has been derived from the analysis.(5)The stress and strain models of RAC-RCBA were established: on the basis of size effect analysis of RAC-RCBA,the stress and strain models were established and fit well with text data.
