Excessive ammonia not only affects the smoking taste of cigarettes,but also affects the physical and mental health of people in the process of smoking.It is imperative to reduce high concentration of ammonia in the mainstream cigarette smoke.Different aldehyde substituted?-cyclodextrin aldehydes and ?-cyclodextrin supramolecular with rigid aromatic compounds and the graft polymer was grafted with itaconic acid on ?-cyclodextrin was prepared in this paper.After that,the adsorption material was added to the cigarette filter tip by the form of the three section composite filter.The structure of the preparations was confirmed by FT-IR,1H NMR,N2 adsorption-desorption,SEM and thermal property was confirmed by Thermogravimetric analyzer(TGA)and so on.The concentration of ammonia in the mainstream smoke of cigarette was measured by ion chromatography.The specific contents are as follows:(1)Monosubstitution ?-CD aldeldehyde,disubstitution ?-CD aldehyde and persubstitution ?-CD aldehyde were parepared by controlling different quantities of a new oxidant based oxidant-O-iodiphenyl formic acid(IBX).The Schiff base reaction was on aldehyde-?-CD aldehyde with ammonia from mainstream cigarette smoke to reduce the ammonia concentration.The results showed that:when the adsorption materials were added to the cigarette filter is 20 mg/cig.The largest reduction of ammonia is disubstitution ?-CD aldehyde by 16.8%and it has high adsorption selectivity but also not effect on the conventional components such as CO,nicotine and total particulate matter in flue gas obviously.(2)?-CD supermolecule polymer was parepared by using the P-CD as the carrier and the rigid aromatic compound 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-4-benzenedicarbonitrile is the the grafter.The results showed that the yield was up to 56%when choosing KHCO3 as reaction catalyst,reaction solvent DMF:THF=1:9.When 20 mg/cig of materials were added to the cigarette filter,ammonia in cigarette mainstream smoke was reduced by 21.8%and it has high adsorption selectivity but also not effect on the conventional components such as CO,nicotine and total particulate matter in flue gas obviously.(3)?-cyclodextrin grafted itaconic acid was prepared by free radical reaction.?-cyclodextrin was carrier,itaconic acid was grafter,ammonium persulfate was initiator.The results showed that:the highest grafting percent(GP)was 38.0%which was obtained after reacted for 3 h at 70?,?-cyclodextrin to itaconic acid was 0.17:3(mol/mol)and the concentration of ammonium persulfate was 3%.When 20 mg/cig of the?-CD-g-IA were added to the cigarette filter,the ammonia in mainstream cigarette smoke was reduced by 54%,It has high adsorption selectivity but also not effect on the conventional components such as CO,nicotine and total particulate matter in flue gas obviously.
