The detection and degradation of pollutants is currently a valuable topic in the development of environmental science.Coordination polymers(CPs),due to their abundant structures, low solubility, high stability toward acid/base and various modification methods, have attached increasing attentions in the detection and degradation of pollutions in water. In this thesis,we constructed a series of CPs by the assembly of a tri-ethenylpyridyl ligand,1,3,5-tri-4-pyridyl-1,2-ethenylbenzene(tpeb)with Zn(II),Cd(II)and Cu(I),and investigated their performances in the luminescent detection of chromium in aqueous media and in the catalytic photogradation of organic dyes in water. The detailed results are described as followed:1.Solvothermal reactions of Zn(NO3)2·6H2O,tpeb and different dicarboxylic acids afforded three coordination polymers {[Zn2(tpeb)2(2,5-tdc)(2,5-Htdc)2]·2H2O}n(1),{[Zn2(tpeb)2(1,4-ndc)(1,4-Hndc)2]·2.6H20}n(2),{[Zn2(tpeb)2(2,3-ndc)2]·H2O}}(3).As these CPs exhibit good photoluminescent performances and contain uncoordinated pyridyl group as active sites, they were employed in detecting chromium(Cr3+,Cr2O72’ and CrO42-)in aqueous phase and have shown low detection limits(ppb level)and high selectivity. The two different detecting mechanisms were proposed and approved by a designed experiment.2.Solvothermal reactions of tpeb and Cd(II)/Cu(I)salts produced four CPs[Cd(tpeb)Br2]n(4),[Cd(tpeb)I2]n(5),[Cd(tpeb)(1,4-bdc)0.5I]n(6)and[Cu(tpeb)I]n(7).Compounds 4,5 and 7 are 1D chain CPs,while 6 is a 2D CP.The catalytic performances of these CPs on the photogradation of Rhodamine B(RhB)in water were studied. The results showed that the photocatalytic activities were affected by different halides and central metals.
