Because of the presence of nitrogen containing compounds(NCCs)in the oil,the large-scale use of high nitrogen containing fuels has caused a series of environmental problems.In order to cope with the intensification environmental issues,it is urgent to limit the nitrogen content in fuels and to produce ultra-clean fuels.Nowadays,Hydrodenitrogenation(HDN)process is commonly used in industry to remove NCCs,but it has many problems,such as,complicated operation,high cost and high risk.More research efforts have been focused on non-hydrodenitrogenation technology like extractive denitrogenation,complexing refining and adsorptive denitrogenation(ADN).Among them,ADN has attracted more attention due to its simple operation,low operating cost and high nitrogen removal efficiency.Many kinds of adsorbents have been reported in the literatures,such as zeolite,molecular sieve,activated carbon and metal-organic framework,but most of them have inhomogenous morphology and non-uniform particle size.Adsorbents with uniform particle size have remarkable advantages compared with non-uniform adsorbents,especially in the fixed bed device,the former can reduce the pressure drop and save energy.In this paper,soft templating method was combined with spray drying technology to synthesize uniform mesoporous carbon particles.The uniform mesoporous carbon particles were modified by oxidation to introduce a large number of oxygen-containing functional groups,and their adsorptive denitrogenation performance were estimated.The experimental results show combining soft templating method with spray drying technology can successfully synthesize uniform mesoporous carbon particles.The pore structure of carbon particles can be controlled by adjusting the content of F127 and TEOS in the precursor.According to adsorption experiment of model oil,it is found that the presence of mesoporous can provide a channel for the diffusion of adsorbate,which is beneficial to the adsorption of NCCs.A large number of oxygen-containing functional groups are introduced into carbon particles by the oxidation,while their morphology and mesostructure can be preserved.The results of adsorption experiment of model oil show that introduction of oxygen containing functional groups can greatly promote the adsorption performance of NCCs.What's more,the oxidation modification can improve the adsorption selectivity on NCCs.
