Several Improved Technology Method On The Deacidification Aged Books

With the passage of time,books were damaged in varying degrees during the preservation process,including the serious yellowing of the paper,the occurrence of mildew,the breakdown of the powder,and the like.After a long period of research,people found that acidification is the most important method for paper aging.Therefore,deacidification of paper is an effective and long-term method for book protection.This thesis is mainly to improve and optimize the common method of deacidification of aqueous solution.Specific research includes the following aspects:1.On the basis of consulting a large number of domestic and foreign literatures,nano-magnesia was used as deacidification agent and surfactant OT-75 was added to improve the dispersibility of magnesia in solution.On this basis,for different volumes of books to take a different deacidification methods,including spraying and vacuum soaking method.2.1n the deacidification experiment,through a large number of single factor experiments,explore the key factors affecting the paper deacidification effect.By comparing the paper’s pH,alkali retention,whiteness of paper and mechanical properties of paper before and after deacidification treatment,the best experimental conditions of deacidification by spraying method were determined as follows:the mass fraction of deacidified liquid was 5%Constant flow pump delivery flow rate of 10mL/min,compressor flow pressure of 0.16MPa.The best conditions of vacuum soaking were as follows:the content of deacidified liquid was 0.3%and the soaking time was 30min.3.The above two deacidification methods treated paper,the surface pH value maintained within the optimal range of 7.5-8.5,alkali reserves reached 0.4mol/kg,has a certain acid resistance,can ease the paper acidification degradation Speed,in line with the current paper deacidification requirements.4.In the deacidification process of large quantities of books,we use a vacuum pressure soaking,the method to solve the problem of uneven acid deacidification existing ordinary soaking method.In the paper drying stage,the first time using a vacuum microwave freezing joint Process for drying.The combined drying technology overcomes the phenomena of paper shrinkage,deformation,adhesion and damage caused by the traditional deacidification method,and maintains the original appearance of the paper to the largest extent and greatly improves the efficiency of the deacidification process.
