Pickering Emulsion is a new type of emulsion that adopts solid particles as an emulsifier. It is more stable and environmentally friendly than traditional emulsion stabilized with organic surfactants. Moreover, the preparation of composites, porous structures and hollow microspheres using Pickering emulsion as a template are of great research as well as application value. Therefore, there is an endless stream of research on Pickering emulsions stabilized with various solid particles in recent years. In this paper, ferric oxide?Fe3O4?nanoparticles were used as emulsifier to prepare Pickering emulsion. In order to investigate the ability of different iron oxide nanoparticles to stabilize emulsions, the following two aspects will be discussed:In the first part of the experiment, ferric oxide nanoparticles with a diameter of several tens of nanometers and two hundred nanometers were first prepared by co-precipitation method and solvothermal method, respectively, and then interacted with oils of different polarities to prepare Pickering emulsion. Then,we compared and analyzed these nanoparticles'ability and effectiveness of stabilizing the Pickering emulsion. Finally, stains were used to determine the type of Pickering emulsions that were stabilized with each particle. In the second part of the experiment, the nanoparticles with the best emulsifying effect were chosen as raw materials to be modified respectively by non-covalent interaction and covalent interaction to obtain several Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles with different degree of modification. And then the modified nanoparticles interacted with oil phases of different polarities to prepare Pickering emulsions. The ability of different modified particles to stabilize Pickering emulsions and the changes of the emulsification ability of the particles before and after the modification were comparatively analyzed. When the Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were covalently modified, the grafted polymer had certain gas response ability,so we compared the changes of Pickering emulsion before and after gas stimulation. Finally,we also judged the types of Pickering emulsions which were stabilized with modified nanoparticles.
