Design And Operation Of Plant Formunicipal Sludge Treatment And Disposal(750T/D) Using Drying And Incineration Technology In Pudong,Shanghai

In recent years,the amount of human and industrial wastewater increased dramatically with accelerating urbanization,flourishing national economy and swelling urban population.More sludge was generated from the system of sewage treatment.According to the data from statistics in 2016,7.547 milliontons of dry sludge,which is equivalent to moisture content of 37.73 million tons of wet sludge with a mount of 80%water,was produced in 2015.While the conventional technologies for sludge treatment has been constrained for serials reasons,it is essential to develop a novel strategy for sludge disposal.The sludge thermal drying and incineration process,a promising technology for achieving reduction,inequity and stabilization of sludge,has been an important way of sludge treatment.1.This study cited the sludge disposal project in Shanghai Pudong as an example to elaborate the selection of drying and incineration process and investigated the engineering design.A semi-drying and incineration process was confirmed and author designed process units reasonably including receiving and storing system,drying system,incineration system,waste heat utilization system exhaust gas treatment system.2.The results of trial operation exhibited the excellent reliability of unit equipment and the whole project successfully run for 90 days with daily processing capacity of 828.7ton average.Furthermore,evaluations and calculations of cost for sludge disposal by this strategy were investigated.3.All the results concluded that semi-drying and incineration technology was an efficient,reliable and stable sludge disposal scheme.Author also hoped that this study can provide some references for project design and operation of sludge treatment.
