Needling machine is a kind of the large-scale textile machinery,mainly used in nonwoven.With the development of the textile industry,the use of nonwoven is becoming more and more widespread.The nonwoven products have special structure and performance,so nonwoven products have been widely used in construction,industry,agriculture and so on.Needling machine produces general nonwoven products.This paper is to develop new needling machine for the production of small diameter felt jacket.The wool small diameter felt jacket is made through more than twenty working procedures and we can not control it’s quality.Small diameter felt jacket is widely used in motor manufacturing industry and wire manufacturing industry.This paper is to design a new kind of needling machine based on the principle of mechanical design.The new needling machine can produce small diameter felt jacket to meet the need of the enterprise.We must solve problems of big deflection and bed stability during designing the needling machine.We must make sure the mechanical safety in the process of the needling machine designing,analysis and practice.The paper first designs the structure of the new needling machine.The structure must meet with the function of producing the small diameter felt jacket.Then we analyse the safety and stability of the needling machine and parts.We check the strength of the drive shaft and connecting rod through theoretical calculation to ensure the structural strength.The bed will vibrate and bend under the effect of periodic impact force.The vibration and bending of the bed affect the quality of the small diameter felt jacket and produce big noise to affect the environmental safety.Therefore,we use finite element simulation and experiment to analyse the bending deflection and vibration of the bed.The result show that stability of the bed is good because of that the first order natural frequency of the bed is far less than the stimulating frequency of the needling force.The downward bending deflection of the bed is reduced to0.15 mm under the action of the support mechanism of the bed,the downward bending deflection meets with design requirement and guarantees the quality of the mall diameter felt jacket.
