| The gold tailings particles have the characteristics of small particle size and rich silicon. Therefore,as a fine aggregate or cementitious material in reactive powder concrete(RPC),the gold tailings particles is used for preparing RPC,which can sharp reduce the cost of RPC and improve the comprehensive utilization rate of gold tailings with significant economic benefits, social benefits and environmental benefits. In this paper, the effects of the content of gold tailings, the ratio of cementitious material to aggregate, the content of steel fiber, the content of fly ash and the curing methods on the mixture and mechanical properties of RPC are studied. Thus, the optimized reactive powder concrete for gold tailings is tested by the durability test of sulfate attack resistance and carbonization. The results show that the mixed sand has the largest packing density and the best size distribution, and the obtained RPC has better mixture and mechanical properties while the mixing ratio of quartz sand and gold tailings is 4:6.The ratio of cementitious material to aggregate has obvious effect on fluidity and strength of RPC.The ratio of cementitious material to aggregate should be 1:1.15 while the high strength 180 MPa grade RPC is prepared. The optimum content of steel fiber in RPC is 2%,and a small amount of steel fiber can improve the RPC strength. The addition of fly ash within 9% in RPC can improve mixture properties of RPC and reduce the production cost of RPC.After steam curing for 48 hours, the mechanical properties of RPC are further improved.Based on the durability analysis, the gold tailings RPC has high mechanical properties and good durability, which can meet the requirements of high durability. Therefore the gold tailings RPC can be used in a large number of practical projects. |
