The high strength and antibacterial lithium disilicate glass ceramics were prepared by high-temperature melting and reasonable heat treatment.The P2O5 and ZrO2 were added as compound nucleation agent,Ag2O and ZnO were added as synergistic antibacterial agent.The heat treatment of basic glass ceramics has been determined by the test of DSC,XRD,SEM,physical and bioactive properties.The influence of ZnO on antibacterial microstructure and macroscopical properties of lithium disilicate glass-ceramics has been studied.The influence of SrO on mechanical properties of bioactive and antibacterial lithium disilicate glass-ceramic has been discussed.It has found that the lithium disilicate glass ceramics would be colored when the content of Ag2O exceeds 0.2 wt%.The addition of appropriate amount of ZnO can improve the antibacterial property of glass ceramics obviously.It can expand the scope of transparency on high strength?300 MPa?conditions when the content of ZnO below 4.0 wt%.It would form the crystal phase of Li3Zn0.5SiO4 when the addition of ZnO exceeds 3.0 wt%.The formation of Li2Si2O5 is inhibited when there are too much ZnO in the glass ceramics,so that causes the flexural strength of glass ceramics to reduce.The addition of SrO can densify the glass phase of glass ceramics,thus the hardness of lithium disilicate glass ceramics are increased.Moreover,the moderate amount of SrO?2.0 wt%?can promote the formation of high strength?-quartz solid solution in glass ceramics.The fine grains of?-quartz solid solution uniformly fill in the void of bar like grain.It greatly increases the flexural strength of lithium disilicate glass ceramics.The corresponding average value of the biggest flexural strength can reach 322 MPa when the content of SrO is 2.0 wt%.
