With the rapid development of industry,bringing convenience to people at the same time,has brought many serious problems,the treatment of solid waste is one of the most serious problems.A large amount of industrial waste has seriously affected the living environment of human,how to properly deal with these solid waste has become an important environmental issue nowadays.Combining with the problem of recycling solid waste,two kinds of industrial waste—ceramic polishing waste?CPW?and artificial marble polishing waste?AMPW?,which was difficult to recycle,were selected to modify r-HIPS plastic,and on this basis CPW and AMPW were applied to r-HIPS wood-plastic composites?WPC?,and the influence on structure and properties such as mechanical properties,thermal properties,melt flow rate and flame retardant properties were studied systematically.Firstly,physical and chemical properties of CPW and AMPW were studied.It turns out that CPW,a polishing waste produced by ceramic polishing bricks during polishing,grinding and other procedure,with main crystal phase as quartz phase and wide diameter distribution,has an average diameter of 12.76?m.The maximum weight loss temperature of CPW is483?,and the weight loss rate at 700?is about 1.5%,which has high heat resistance.AMPW,a polishing waste produced by artificial marble during polishing,grinding and other procedure,with main component as Al?OH?3?about 63.0%?and unsaturated polyester?about36.5%?and narrow diameter distribution,has an average diameter of 8.64?m.Then,the effects on the properties of r-HIPS and r-HIPS WPC filled with CPW were investigated and several coupling agents were used to modify CPW.The results show that with the increase of CPW,the tensile strength of r-HIPS plastic decreased slightly,the bending strength remained unchanged,the notched impact strength decreased and the flexural modulus increased significantly.Among different coupling agents,the silane coupling agent KH550 has the best effects on r-HIPS composites and the optimum portion is 2%,and the best filling portions of modified ceramic polishing waste?MCPW?are 50 shares.On this basis,MCPW was added to r-HIPS WPC?r-HIPS/WF:80/20?,which could significantly boost the flexural properties of r-HIPS WPC.Among the various toughening agents,SEBS shows the best effect.With the adding of 15phr SEBS,the notched impact strength of r-HIPS composites has been enhanced.The vicat and TGA showed that the thermal properties of r-HIPS and r-HIPS WPC has been improved with the increase of MCPW,and the initial thermal degradation temperature T5%,weight loss 50%temperature T50%and residue have increased.The effects on the properties of r-HIPS and r-HIPS WPC filled with AMPW were studied and several coupling agents were used to modify AMPW.The results show that the titanate coupling agents NDZ201 has the best effects on r-HIPS composites and the optimum portion is 3%,and the best filling portions of modified artificial marble polishing waste?MAMPW?was 40 shares.On this basis,MAMPW was added to r-HIPS WPC?r-HIPS/WF:80/20?,which increased the flexural modulus obviously.However,with the addition of 15 phr SEBS,notched impact strength of r-HIPS composites has been enhanced.The addition of MAMPW improved the vicat of both the r-HIPS plastic and the r-HIPS WPC.With the incorporation of MAMPW,the residue increased,.The addition of CPW and AMPW can remarkably improve the flame retardant property of r-HIPS plastic.With the increase of CPW and AMPW,the horizontal burning rate of r-HIPS plastic gradually decreased,the limiting oxygen index gradually increased,and the ignition time prolonged.DOPO-KH560,a multi-function flame retardant,was prepared with DOPO and KH560 by nucleophilic addition reaction,which can improve the interfacial bonding between filler and matrix and boost the flame retardant effect.CPW and AMPW were modified by DOPO-KH560 and applied to r-HIPS plastic.When DOPO-KH560 was used at 15%of the filler,the DOPO-KH560 modified CPW was 40 phr,or DOPO-KH560was used at 10%of the filler,the DOPO-KH560 modified AMPW was 60phr,the flame retardation of composites reached V-2 level,and the interface between the filler and the resin matrix was obviously improved,so the mechanical properties of the composites were improved.
