Arrays of ordered nanorod are of special interest in many fields, such as photovoltaic solar cell, detection of biomacromolecule and environmental pollution, optical metamaterials. In this article,we have finished the following work.Firstly,we report the fabrication of highly ordered and vertically standing nanorod arrays of both metal and semiconductor on Au film and ITO glass substrate without additional layering. In this approach, following simple hydrophilic treatment of anodic aluminum oxide(AAO)membrane and conducting substrates, the AAO membrane was transferred onto the modified substrates with excellent adhesion.Subsequently, nanorod arrays of various materials were electrodeposited on the conducting substrates directly.Freeze drying was used to avoid the collapsing of nanorod arrays. This method avoids any expensive and tedious lithographic and ion milling process, provides a simple yet robust route to the fabrication of arrays of 1D materials with high aspect ratio on conducting substrates, which shall pave the way for many practical applications in a range of fields.Secondly,we can adjust the shape of AAO template to obtain various structure of AAO templates. For example,cone-shape,pencil shape and inverted cone.By using the method just mentioned above,we can obtain many shapes of nanorod arrays. The special shape of the metal and semiconductor nanorod arrays can have different optical property compared with cylindrical nanorod arrays, which may have important applications in many areas.Thirdly,we can firstly adjust the shape of AAO template by altering the composition of electrolyte and the electrodeposition voltage. And by the means of sputtering a layer of gold, the substrates was the used as the SERS detection substrates.Different shapes of AAO substrates was used to detect fluorescent marker, and a low detection limit was achieved.
