Polo is witness to the ancient Silk Road cultural communion all over the world,and was very popular nearly three hundred years time since the Tang Dynasty was found.Polo was called Daqiu or Jijv in the Tang Dynasty,which was first to improve the fighting capability of soldiers and later gradually extended as the Tang Dynasty people’s most favorite sports.There gradually appeared Polo costume with the spread to which many scholars pay attention.By exploring the contents of Polo costume in the ancient and modern literature,combining Tang tomb murals and Polo tomb figures which is the Tang Dynasty relics,there the Polo costume in the Tang Dynasty is divided into two categories: male and aristocrat female,and the male Polo clothes are divided into three categories: the aristocrats,the civilians and the officers.This paper uses archeological methods to study the basic characteristics and contents of the Polo dress in the Tang Dynasty and uses the art method and modern digital media technology to restore the specific shape and artistic effect of polo costume in the Tang Dynasty,trying to combine the history and aesthetics of polo costume in the Tang Dynasty.The key is to confirm each other between documents,images and physical data,so as to “words to explain pictures,pictures to demonstrate history,words and pictures demonstrate each other”,and get its cultural connotation,more intuitively the form of the Tang Dynasty polo dress.It provides some reference for the future research of Chinese ancient sports ornaments,which is of great significance to the development of Chinese traditional costume culture.
